Telehealth
What is telehealth?
Telehealth allows you to discuss symptoms, medical issues, and more with a healthcare provider by phone or video. Using telehealth, you can receive a diagnosis, learn your treatment options, and get a prescription if indicated.
When is telehealth appropriate?
Several issues can be treated remotely, such as:
- Colds
- Rashes
- Pink eye
- Bladder infections (women only)
- Sinusitis
- Sore throats
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Medication refills (except controlled medications)
- Sore throats
Telemedicine isn’t appropriate for emergencies:
- Potential heart attack or stroke
- Cuts or lacerations
- Broken bones
- Anything that requires immediate, hands-on care or a hands on physical assessment should be handled in person.
