Telemedicine
What is telemedicine
Telemedicine allows you to discuss symptoms, medical issues, and more with a healthcare provider by phone or video. Using telemedicine, you can receive a diagnosis, learn your treatment options, and get a prescription.
When telemedicine appropriate?
Several issues can be treated remotely, such as:
Colds, rashes, conjunctivitis, UTI’s, sinusitis, sore throats, vomiting and diarrhea, medication refills to name a few.
Telemedicine isn’t appropriate for emergency situations like heart attack or stroke, cuts or lacerations, Altitude Sickness or broken bones. Anything that requires immediate, hands-on care or a hands on physical assessment should be handled in person.
